The Houston IMA Chapter will meet Tuesday, February 19t at the Magnolia Houston Hotel, 1100 Texas Avenue, Houston, 77002

5:30 pm – Check-in 6:30 pm – Dinner & Presentation 7:45 pm – Networking 1 1/2 CPE hours for both CMAs and CPAs are provided. Presenter Bio:

Heather Bain CPA, CMA, MBA is the owner of Bain CPA Business Strategies, LLC, a small business management advisory firm in Houston, Texas and adjunct accounting professor for University of Phoenix Houston Campus. Bain has a variety business experience from business development roles in both corporate and family-owned businesses to finance professional for national publicly traded companies to controller for a privately-held energy exploration and production company. Bain serves on IMA's Small Business Committee, as a board member and treasurer for a local not-for-profit organization and on the energy committee for the Houston Chapter of the Texas Society of CPA’s. She has volunteers as an adviser for the Houston Community College business plan competition, and in 2016 and 2017, her teams won first and second place prizes, respectively. Bain is on the steering committee of the Newspring Edge Program to develop businesses in the Houston area.

 

Bain has presented Accounting for the Cost of Regulation at the 2015 IMA annual conference and presents local accounting seminars to small business owners in Houston, Texas.  She presents a wide variety of topics as an accounting professor at University of Phoenix. Bain has authored three small business columns in Strategic Finance Magazine: Nexus and the Small Business, published in May 2016, Checklists for the Small Business, published in the May 2017 publication of Strategic Finance Magazine and Customer Lifetime Value for Small Businesses, published in August 2018. 

The Houston Chapter of IMA is registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) to offer CPE to CPAs (ID #005541).
